"Where do I start learning about product metrics?"
You are in a meeting. The PM says adoption or retention is dropping. You nod. You are not fully sure what that means. You tell yourself you will ask someone later, Google it, or skim through something on Medium or Substack.
This happens more than designers admit.
Two things are getting in the way.
One,the language. Metrics like activation, retention, adoption etc come up constantly. Most designers have heard them. Most are not confident enough to use them back.
Two,vague briefs. In interviews they are given on purpose. In real jobs they just show up. Knowing what to ask next is the skill. Most designers were never taught it.
Weekend · Live session
Activation, Retention, Adoption, and 6 more product metrics you probably keep Googling or saving to read later on Medium or Substack.
This week you stop doing that. You learn what they actually mean in context. Not theory. Real situations.

Weekend · Live session
Intro to the BUILD framework. A proprietary framework that puts clarity before creativity. A structured way to probe into a vague brief and come out knowing exactly what is being asked. Your questions stop being generic. They become specific to what is actually going on.

The Last 2 Days · 45 min × 2
On Days 15 and 16, it's just the two of us for 45 minutes each day. You get a vague product problem, live. You diagnose it. You talk through your reasoning. I poke at it. We find where it holds and where it doesn't. You conclude with clarity.
01Fluency in product vocabulary and structured thinking.
02Ability to ask sharper questions in moments of vagueness.
03Ability to reason clearly through ambiguity.
We talk about where you are, where you are headed, and whether this is the right fit for your current career stage.

If you are a designer who finds themselves jumping straight into Figma before truly dissecting the problem, you need to take Somnath’s product thinking course. I just finished it, and the shift in my mindset is amazing. It has brought structure to the chaotic questions that used to float in my mind. I am now looking at problem statements through a business lens, using better product vocabulary, and curating highly targeted solutions. It’s exactly the upgrade I needed to confidently align with senior stakeholders and management. Huge shoutout to Somnath for being so kind, professional, and thorough with his feedback on our assignments. Can’t wait for the next course! 🙌
